One of the most difficult and time-consuming processes facing the small business owner is the creation of an effective and comprehensive business plan. Business plans differ in size and scope depending on the type of businesses involved as well as the operating history of the small business.

When an entrepreneur has identified a potential business opportunity, the next step is developing a business plan for the new venture. What exactly should the new plan contain? How can the entrepreneur ensure it has the substance to find interest among would-be investors?

Plan perfect but execute well...

idea posted by ujjval jain Retail, Retail

1. An entrepreneur should think about the 'next step' only when he/she has a well consolidated present set up & understanding & vision of the market.

2. New investment plans should be well calibrated with market size & profitability.

3. One should make sure to possess latest technical/industry know-how & to associate best available talents in one's expansion so as to have a well maneuvered momentum.

4. Be prepared for the worst & for emergencies, 'next step' failure should not dent the existing set-up as far as possible.

5.Always be honest to both; your customers & with your investors.

Creating a comprehensive & clear plan

idea posted by Dayanand Deshpande Senior Consultant, Ernst & Young

A business plan is a summary of the small business owners operational, financial and marketing plans as well as a detailed description of the backgrounds of the key personnel that will form the management team of the proposed business. The importance of this document can not be understated or underrated. A well researched and thoughtfully created business plan shows that the prospective owner is serious about their proposed future venture.

A poorly constructed or sloppy business plan reflects poorly on the future owners and shows that they are either not well versed in their business venture, or just too lazy to care about the venture. A business plan that is well researched and organized should act as a blueprint for the future activities of the business, as well as a strategy of implementing of the future goals of the business.

effective business plans -

idea posted by NARAYAN SINGH Corporate Advisory Manager, ANAND & SUDHA RANI - CORPORATE CONSULTANTS

Small Business Enterprises are more dependent on the larger Industrial Units / economy for their survival.

Any SME should always have fore sight of their Business, and should plan for the effective implementation of the plan.

The Business plan should,

1) Transparent & Clear - to be understood by the executor's.

2) Specific Actions should be worked out in detail.

3) Assignment of Responsilbilty should be accompanied by Authority to take necessary steps to implement the Plan effectively.

4) The Plan should be reviewed as many times as possible in the Earlier Stages of implementation, so that after stablisation, the plan can be more effectively adhered to.

5) The Envisaged Initial Plan should not be Deviated from, while reviewing.

6) Any Sudden Changes in the Implementation of the proposed Plan should be discussed & then changes should take effect.

7) All the Personnel involed in the implementation should also be involved in Planning at their Stages, so that the Ideas / Plan of action initiated by the individual will  be more effective during implementation.

8) On review the results should be discussed in detail with the Personnel.

9) The Path of effectiveness starts with Personal Goals & ends with the Personal achievement, so importance should be given to the need for involvement in implementation.

10) Once the Plan is effectively executed and the Results are achived as proposed it should be shared with all.

These are the few ways to have an Effective Business Plan.

I think if the person has plan in such a way, and the way out in case of failure of plan, then only he can be entrepreneure, our resources are limited, only understanding dynamics one can reach success..........

RATTAN TATA IS DYNAMIC PERSONALITY,

HIS PLAN TO PRODUCE NANO IN BENGAL FAILED, BUT HE WAS DYNAMIC, AND IT WAS DONE.

BUSINESS IS DYNAMIC STATE.

An Entrepreneur should think like a " Buyer would think "...

idea posted by Naushad H.L. Creative Director, MAD COMMUNICATION

Every Entrepreneur makes Plans... and Plans !

What is of utmost importance is to start thinking exactly like a " Buyer would think", when he has to shell out cold cash, to Buy the Product / Service that an Entrepreneur is out to promote.

Get deep into the buyer's mind & shoes and im sure even if he reaches half way... his product / service would be a winner.

Technology & New Marketing fundas may come & go... But even today its the Heart that Rules the Mind. Touch it & ur a winner. After all its all about Humans, isnt it friends ?
